Winter Warming Party

Friday, December 2nd, 7-10pm
Join us to celebrate the kickoff to our annual Greens Sale! Gather over cocktails and delicious hors d’oeuvres as we mingle with friends and toast the season. Browse and bid on many unique holiday decorations at our silent auction. Take home some special items for your home or gifts for friends and family. Proceeds will directly benefit Ambler Farm. Registration required and enrollment is limited; no wait list. Members can register as of November 4th, and non-members on November 11th (space permitting).
Members $55 per person / Non-members $60 per person.

Greens Sale 2016

The Greens Sale (trees, wreaths and roping) has become a Wilton tradition! Enjoy hot cocoa, cider and treats, meet friends and leave with freshly cut trees. A great way to begin the holiday season.  Pre-orders may be picked up at the farm on December 3rd from 9am – 11am to select your greens before we open to the public. Pre-ordering ended November 26th.

Martin Luther King, Jr. Day of Service Food Drive

Monday, January 16th between 8am-Noon 
In honor of the Martin Luther King, Jr. Day of Service, we are holding a food drive to benefit Wilton Social Services. Please drop off paper goods, cleaning supplies, personal care items and non-perishable food items at the White Carriage Barn.

Maple Syrup Tap-a-Tree

Saturday, February 4th at 10am or 1pm

Learn the science and history of maple syruping by being a hands-on part of the process. There will be two training sessions offered (February 4th at 10am or 1pm); only ONE session is required for training. On that day you will choose a tree and hang your bucket that will collect sap. We will send regular updates on the running of the sap so you can come to the Farm to collect sap from your tree. We will boil down the sap in our sugar shack and send each family home with their very own bottle of Ambler Farm maple syrup.

The season runs from early February to mid-March. Maple syrup production is winter farming and, therefore, weather dependent. A typical season is five weeks long. If you are traveling during February or March, we will collect sap for you.

Enrollment limited to 110 families. This program sold out quickly in previous years, so please do not wait to sign up! The number of trees at the Farm is limited, so we are unable to accommodate late requests or wait lists. Registration opens to members on January 3rd, non-members on January 17th, space permitting.

Middlebrook Maple Syrup Program

Thursdays, starting February 9th – March 16th, 2016 (6 sessions)

Students in grades 6-8 will meet in the Middlebrook cafeteria after school to tap trees on school grounds and to collect the sap. Students and families will be invited to Ambler Farm to see how the sap is made into syrup. As a thank you for participating, each student will receive a bottle of maple syrup made from the sap that they helped harvest. Dress warm as we will be outside. Pick-up is at 4:10 pm in the MB pick-up line.

Valentine’s Tea

Sunday, February 12th, 2-4pm *The Valentine’s Tea is Sold Out.*
Spend a cozy afternoon with your little Valentine at our annual Tea! Enjoy platters of delicious sandwiches and sweets galore, and have fun making a craft to take home. The Tea is a popular event and sells out quickly, so reserve your spot soon!

$20 per adult and $10 per child.  Registration opens to members and non-members on January 3, 2017.

Maple Syrup Open House

Saturdays, March 4th + March 11th, 1-2pm
Come experience a New England tradition: turning sap into syrup! The history and process of making syrup is fascinating. Kids and families will have an opportunity to tap a tree, take the maple syrup taste test, learn about Native American, colonial, and modern methods of making syrup and, of course, taste Ambler Farm’s very own maple syrup over vanilla ice cream. Bottles of Ambler Farm Maple Syrup will be available for sale. This event is free and open to the public.

Home Garden Workshop

Wednesday, March 22nd, 9:30 – 11:30am
Do you ever wish your garden would yield the same beautiful produce that our own Farmer Jonathan Kirschner grows? It can! Now is the time to start planning for your home garden. Jonathan, Ambler Farm’s Director of Agriculture, is offering this workshop to guide you on your way to the most bountiful home garden. He will walk through the steps that he takes at Ambler Farm and how to adapt these processes to your own garden. Topics include:
• Crop Selection
• Timing
• Spacing
• Basic soil nutrition
• Basic garden design

One-on-One Gardening with Farmer Jonathan

Farmer Jonathan will be manning the sugar shack during the maple sugaring season (Late February-March), turning sap into syrup. While at the sugar shack, he will offer one-on-one half-hour sessions to discuss your specific garden needs! Feel free to bring photos, layouts, crop wish lists or anything else that may be useful during your consultation.

Please contact Jonathan in advance to schedule a time for your consultation; best times are Mondays through Fridays from 9am-5pm. An alternate time may be arranged on a case-by-case basis. Contact Jonathan at jonathan@amblerfarm.org.  Cost: $35 members / $40 non-members.
