From the Wilton Villager, March 3, 2006![]() Ambler Farm: One girl's contribution Tens of thousands of kitchen tables across the country bear the burden of diligent enterprise each day — whether for homework, building planes out of Legos, or finger painting. In the DeMattia household, however, 12-year-old daughter Morgan has commandeered one end of the table for the creation of earrings to be sold at various Ambler Farm fundraising events. Morgan has grown up with a love of the farm and is making a contribution to its future in her own way. Since the Holiday Greens Sale, when the earrings first debuted at $5 a pair, Morgan has been donating all the proceeds to the farm. Her total contribution so far is more than $100 and growing. With her dark hair falling forward, her fingers skitter through the beads, finding just the right one. She threads it onto the base and begins to build an original and lovely piece. This labor of love could help fund the renovation of the white carriage barn or the purchase of equipment needed for the new kitchen ... who knows? Return to home page. |
