Our friendly, lovable animals spend most days in their homes near the Farm Stand. Follow the driveway past the Red Barn and you’ll see their handsome digs on your left. Children and families are welcome to visit our animals. Saturdays from May through October are a particularly good day to schedule your visit, as Mr. Meehan, Miss Sue and the able Ambler apprentices are on hand to make personal introductions.
Our Sheep
Nutmeg and Clover came to Ambler in May 2009, when they were only a week old. They were born at Millstone Farm in Wilton. Our lambs have grown into large, cuddly sheep. We shear them twice a year, once in the Spring (check out our program list for more information) and once during our summer program, Adventures at the Farm.
Our Goats
Betty and Raymond (named after their Ambler Ancestors) joined the Ambler Family in May 2010. “We could have gotten any kind of goat, but the African Pygmy Goats are very interesting animals to watch, especially for kids,” says Sue Gaffney. “First of all, they are smaller, so kids are calmer around them because they think they are babies. And second, they are always hopping around, which kids love. They are fun.”
Our Rabbits and Chickens
Ambler Farm has 9 beautiful rabbits. Our rabbit friends are Ginger, Oreo, Pumpkin, Rocket, Cookie, Star, Ashley, Poppy and Buttercup. Ambler also incubates a few dozen baby chicks for our summer program each June.
Your Dog

You and your furry best friend are welcome to enjoy a walk at Ambler Farm. For the safety and comfort of fellow Ambler visitors, please ensure that your dog is leashed and/or able to respond to your verbal commands at all times. And, of course, please don’t forget to clean up after your canine friend.
